My brother spent ten years writing an epic fantasy novel. I loved it. I did quite a bit of art for it over the years, and when he asked me for a series of sketches which could become a calendar, I was delighted to oblige.
This piece actually became the cover for a custom printing of the book.
I was experimenting with the art-blending brush, probably for the first time, and I’ve been enchanted with it as a tool ever since.

Pinterest. Pinterest, the social media platform for introverts, contains many beautiful photographs, drawings, posts, pins, and whatever from which I constantly derive inspiration and instruction. Trying to draw a foreshortened foot? PINTEREST. Trying to draw an archer flying through the air? PINTEREST. I don’t steal, I try not to trace, but, man, when ya just need a reference pose, Pinterest is your guy.
